Controls (OpenXcom)

OpenXcom default Control Options

In the Controls screen you can customize keyboard shortcuts for a variety of functions normally only accessible with the mouse. To change a control, left-click on it and press the new key. To erase a control, right-click it.

Besides the controls listed on the screen, there are also these hardcoded shortcuts:

  • ALT-ENTER – Toggles between windowed and fullscreen mode.
  • Right-Click - Automatically set the min/max on an increase/decrease arrow button.
  • Scroll Wheel - Scroll lists / Zoom globe / Change Battlescape view level.
  • Back/Forward Buttons - (if available) Switch between soldiers on the Battlescape. (these are mouse buttons)


Default Keyboard Shortcuts:

General

  • ENTER – OK
  • Escape – Cancel
  • F12 – ScreenShot
  • F7 – FPS Counter
  • F5 – Quick Save
  • F9 – Quick Load

Geoscape

  • Left Arrow – Rotate Left
  • Right Arrow – Rotate Right
  • Up Arrow – Rotate Up
  • Down Arrow – Rotate Down
  • + – Zoom in (plus key)
  • - – Zoom out (minus key)
  • 1 – 5 Second time on Geoscape (Slowest)
  • 2 – 1 Minute time on Geoscape
  • 3 – 5 Minute time on Geoscape
  • 4 – 30 Minute time on Geoscape
  • 5 – 1 Hour time on Geoscape
  • 6 – 1 Day time on Geoscape (Fastest)
  • I – INTERCEPT
  • B – BASES
  • G – GRAPHS
  • U – UFOPEDIA
  • Escape – OPTIONS
  • F – FUNDING
  • Tab – Toggle Country Detail (show the outlines on the map)
  • R – Toggle Radar Ranges (display the circles for radar coverage)

BattleScape

  • Left Arrow – Scroll Left

  • L – Toggle Personal Lighting (light up the space around your soldiers to see them in dark terrain easier).
  • F1 – Don't Reserve TUs
  • F2 – Reserve TUs for Snap Shot
  • F3 – Reserve TUs for Aimed Shot
  • F4 – Reserve TUs for Auto Shot
  • J – Reserve TUs for Kneeling
  • Delete – Expend all remaining Time Units
  • 1 – Center on Enemy 1 in view
  • 2 – Center on Enemy 2 in view
  • 3 – Center on Enemy 3 in view
  • 4 – Center on Enemy 4 in view
  • 5 – Center on Enemy 5 in view
  • 6 – Center on Enemy 6 in view
