Crew number different?

Strange thing. I captured one of those as it landed, but inside I found THREE Aquatoids - one outside (which I promptly wasted) and two inside, all of them on the lowest difficulty. -Mike West

What is actually happening is the Survey Ship map is swapped for the Escort map in the battlescape. Only one alien ever shows up in an Escort mission (it gets the number for the Survey Ship), and the Survey Ship will see the number allocated for the Escort. A discussion (and fix for this problem) can be found at the StrategyCore forums here. --Zombie 19:32, 14 October 2007 (PDT)
The text on the page should be updated to say that the floorplan/tilesets are from the wrong ship, but the Ufopaedia/Intercept image is accurate. However, I think it's worth noting that the 'Survey Ship' map tileset, which is apparently supposed to be the Escort's layout, shows a door in the center of the back flanked by peculiar inset-sphere panels in place of the dark dome-portholes that the Ufopaedia/Intercept image shows, implying even more discrepancy. I'm actually wondering if the 'Survey Ship' floorplan from the stock games was a complete redesign that bears little resemblance to either ship types' original concepts. The original Survey Ship (or Escort) may be lost to poor planning at the time, and the Ufopaedia icons were never updated accordingly. --StormhawkAPS 11:45, 4 October 2013 (EDT)
No, the floorplan matches the UFOpedia matches the interception image. All three show the Escort as the one-room ship and the Survey Ship as the three-room one. It's internally consistent, it's just a very odd state of affairs (particularly given that the Survey Ship is listed as Very Small while the Escort is listed as Small).
