The Advent Shock Trooper is an elite trooper variant specializing in high accuracy and critical attacks similar to XCOM's Rangers.

The Shock Trooper is one of ADVENT's most elite troopers and one of the most dangerous troopers they can field. These troopers specialize in high accuracy and critical attacks, being one of the most accurate units and special perks granting great bonuses to their critical attacks. With Aggression and Bring 'Em On, they become stronger the more soldiers they see within their sight and greatly boosting their effectiveness in dealing critical attacks. This makes them incredibly dangerous with the potential of dealing great damage almost similar to the most elite units. Shock Troopers also have advanced weapons allowing them to more effectively combat armored targets, having pierce and shredding capabilities

Tips

  • Like most flankable units, they will ideally try to find reasonable cover whenever flanked. This can be taken advantage of if you want to force enemies to move.
  • Shock Troopers become more powerful the more soldiers they see, boosting their effectiveness of critical attacks. It is best to limit how many soldiers they see to minimize this or to disable them in some form.
  • Shock Troopers have the ability to shred armor, so it it best to keep your armored targets away if you want to avoid being shredded too much or to make them priority targets.
  • Shock Troopers have Executioner allowing them to more easily pick off soldiers below 50% HP on top of their incredible accuracy. It is ideal to keep soldiers above 50% HP or to keep them out of their sight to prevent them from being killed.
