Escort or Survey Ship?

There was (maybe still is) some sort of a mix up. The picture showed the "small craft" with two navigation consoles and IBAs, yet all the tables showed the data for the "very small craft". And vice versa. I changed the articles so that no, at least the pics and data match. But it may still be that the TITLES are wrong: I just started a new game after oh so many years, so I'm not entirely sure which name refers to which vessel. --Schnobs

There's a glitch in the game that the game uses the Survey Ship for the map when it is supposed to use the Escort, and vice versa. Arrow Quivershaft 15:21, 26 September 2007 (PDT)
The text on the page should be updated to say that the floorplan/tilesets are from the wrong ship, but the Ufopaedia/Intercept image is accurate. However, I think it's worth noting that the 'Survey Ship' map tileset, which is apparently supposed to be the Escort's layout, shows a door in the center of the back flanked by peculiar inset-sphere panels in place of the dark dome-portholes that the Ufopaedia/Intercept image shows, implying even more discrepancy. I'm actually wondering if the 'Survey Ship' floorplan from the stock games was a complete redesign that bears little resemblance to either ship types' original concepts. The original Survey Ship (or Escort) may be lost to poor planning at the time, and the Ufopaedia icons were never updated accordingly. --StormhawkAPS 11:43, 4 October 2013 (EDT)

Crew loadout

Currently playing a Lobster Man Escort, and I found a Technician. This is not in agreement with the listed crew loadout, which doesn't have a Technician (and Lobster Men have both Soldiers and Squad Leaders, AFAIK, so it shouldn't be a replacement for a rank they don't have).

Anybody able to shed some light on this? Virgin install of TFTD DOS. Magic9mushroom (talk) 13:05, 30 July 2018 (CEST)
