Talk:Research (Long War)
Hm, should be able to get the "Contents" dropdown menu to have links to go to individual sections, without messing with the tables, yes? Like from the top, readers should just click in that to go straight to Weapons Tech, another for the Autopsies and Interrogations, ect. as it is now, it's not convenient when the first one in it is right below, and the only other one is barely a full screen below that. --Xuncu (talk) 05:31, 13 December 2014 (EST)
- See if you can navigate now. Should be easier. --8wayz (talk) 20:34, 13 December 2014 (EST)
I put a science-"map" together. It could be helpful, I think. How can I upload it, should I?
About Time Units
The standard unit of research time on these tables is a "day", which is the output of 30 scientists in one day. Why don't we just change the units to Scientist-Days (a similar unit as when people talk about "man-hours") which is basically what one scientist can do in one day. Basically multiplying all the values by 30. This seems like a much better standardized unit of time, but I feel as if there might be a particular reason somebody chose 30 scientist days as the unit?
- IMO the 30 scientists day (I haven't invented it) better approximates what time the research may actually take in the game. Multiplying everything by 30 would present unreal hard to calculate values. Now if research time listed is 20 and my research time is 10, I know that I'm twice as effective than "standard", be it more scientists, labs or other bonuses. Comparing 600 to 10 is much harder.
