The Andromedon is a heavily armored assault unit that also serves as an environmental suit that seems to carry acid.

The Andromedon is a heavily armored assault unit that seeks to enter in close range to wreak havoc. The battlesuit grants them great protection and Environmental Immunities. This heavy suit also grants them the ability to Wall Smash, allowing them to destroy onstacles in their path. The battlesuit also allows them to Fist Strike against soldiers greatly dealy damage knocking them back while also destryoing the environment but it is inaccurate as a result of being too heavy. The Andromedon can also wield the acid within their suit to lob an Acid Bomb, dealing acid damage within an area while also covering it in acid.

After taking fatal damage, the battlesuit is still operational and begins running on auto-pilot seeking out targets and striking them. Thankfully they aren't able to use their weapons anymore but due to the damaged suit they also begin leaving Acid Trails which can make traversing the field difficult.

Abilities and Tactical Upgrades
Environmental Immunities
* Immune to fire, poison and acid but not frozen
Immune to most environmental effects.
Wall Smash
* This ability will completely destroy any cover that the Andromedon walks through as long as it is destructible
Allows the Andromedon to move through cover, destroying any objects in their path.
Fist Strike
* The strike, while devastating, is fairly inaccurate due to the bulkiness of the suit suffering a -15 aim penalty. * The strike destructs the environment within 2.5 tiles of the attack.
Strike at an adjacent target dealing great damage, knockbacks the target and dealing great environmental damage to its surroundings
Acid Bomb
* This ability is not disabled through disorientation
Launch a stream of caustic acid to an area, dealing acid damage, inflcting acid and leaving a pool of acid that lasts 2-turns. 3-turn cooldown.
Robot Battlesuit
* The battlesuit loses its finer control and pilot's abilities, unable to fire the weapon or launch Acid Bomb * With the pilot dead and the interior exposed, it now leaves an Acid Trail
The battlesuit has a tactical AI that takes over control if the pilot is killed and continues fighting.
Center Mass
*You do one additional point of base damage with your primary weapon, pistols or a sawed-off shotgun.
You do one additional point of base damage when using guns.

Acid Trail
* The acid pool inflicts acid to any unit that walks through it. * The acid pool lasts for two turns.
The Andromedon Battlesuit leaks acid and leaves a pool wherever they move.


Tips

  • Like most flankable units, they will ideally try to find reasonable cover whenever flanked. This can be taken advantage of if you want to force enemies to move. Although Vanguards do aim for cover still, they will continuously pursue you in order to enter close range so this may not be that effective.
  • Like most units with AOE moves, you ideally want to spread your soldiers out in order to greatly dissuade them from ever using them.
  • Andromedons are extremely likely to melee if they have an opportunity to. This can be manipulated to melee a soldier with Combatives to effectively waste their turn but also receive a counterattack. Be careful of this though as their fist can destory the environment around them which can end up exposing your soldier in a poor position.
  • The Andromedon with their heavy battlesuit also lets them smash through obstacles which can sometimes expose soldiers depending on their position so be careflu of where you are positioned against them especially if there is a path they can travel between the cover and your soldier.
  • The Andromedon Battlesuit will activate once the Andromedon has died and can potentially act immediately so make sure you are either far from range of the suit or to have a plan to disable or kill it immediately.
  • The Acid they produce will continuously damage obstacles around them similar to fire so be careful of staying in cover or ceilings near them as they may get removed after some time.
