Here is a few tricks.

Base on land/water:

simply in ufo copy loc.dat and paste it into ur tftd save to get a base on land...

for a base on water do the same just with tftd.

this is pretty tricky and still pretty unknown.

in ufo get an avenger(Dont remeber if it was avenger or another craft... but i remember it wastn skyranger or interceptor)then copy craft.dat and loc.dat to tftd

then you maybe ends up having 2 ships named ammunution-1 ammunition-2 nicknamed transformers.

theese will have 255 coelancant tanks and other stuff.

but the most interesting is that theese ships will disppear once an ufo is nearby and turn into thoose ufos.

forexample a survey-1 passes close to your base. your ammunition will disappear and the ufo will be yours.

however click on it and the game crashes because the ufo istn assigned to any base.

further research could make us control alien ships.

and once i got Tentaculat Commander ... this function is however not completely researched.

with transformers and some hackers or a new editor we can perhaps control alien ships.

with unused aliens and items we can have powerful weapons or unused aliens and hereby know more about the game.

Data corruption happens when the game finds unused bytes in a savegame. TFTD and UFO Enemy Unknown are nearly a clone but bytes are different, so wierd things happen when files are placed in the wrong game.

Here is a few tricks.

Base on land/water: simply in ufo copy loc.dat and paste it into ur tftd save to get a base on land... for a base on water do the same just with tftd.
