Elerium

The 115th known element. Used as the chief source of power for almost all alien technology, it is not found on earth and cannot be created.

Obtaining Elerium Every base or UFO is powerered by one or more Alien Power Source. They are cylindrical orange machines which can be broken open by plasma fire to reveal 50 units of Elerium. Explosives will destroy the elerium inside, and craft that have been shot down have only a slim chance of having all power sources intact.
