This is WORLD.DAT where I changed records (i.e., areas) that seemed to overlap XCOM's meridian to a different terrain (e.g. Polar to Farm or vice-versa). As you can see, it follows the usual Greenwich meridian. There is one errant area (record 359, the mountains replacing polar at the north pole) that looked suspicious, but it doesn't actually wrap. There are 23 records that wrap across the meridian (6, 9, 11, 12, 23, 24, 25, 27, 28, 29, 31, 361, 366, 367, 383, 386, 411, 601, 608, 620, 621, 622, and 653).

I made this map when trying to figure out how wrapping works, so I can compute the proper percent of area of the world map devoted to the various types of terrain. (If wrap-around records are not handled properly, a simple coordinate-math area computation will have them extending all the way around the globe, giving them far more area than they actually do.)

WORLD.DAT is only loaded when you start XCOM (at least in DOS). You must completely exit XCOM to reload a new/changed WORLD.DAT.

Be sure to backup your original WORLD.DAT.
