Flanking (EU2012)

A flanked target is indicated with a yellow shield. This target receives no benefits from cover and chances to score a critical hit against it are increased by 50%.
In order to be considered a flank, the flanker must be somewhere behind the flankee, as shots directly from the side do not count as an official flank.
