• The Gauss pistol uses accelerated particle technology, a new development in modern weaponry. It is fast, accurate and functions above and below water. Gauss technology is a development of the Plasma technologies learned from the previous war.

• If you are looking for an underwater version of the Laser Pistol - then the Gauss Pistol will definitely dissapoint. Otherwise the Gauss pistol is significant upgrade over the Jet Harpoon and is many leagues above the Dart Gun. Best of all, it has a huge clip, fires fast and its ammo is so ridiculously easy to obtain that it might as well be free.
• Is quite formidable, but only fails to aliens with heavy armour, like Lobstermen and a number of the heavily armoured terror units, like the Hallucinoid, Xarquid and the front portion of the Tentaculat. Can kill Tasoth on superhuman.
• Best to think of this as the machine gun of the Gauss series.
• Ammo builds fast, has large number of shots and is cheap and very fast building. Well, not as cheap as conventional weapons, but considerably cheaper than most alien weapon ammo, that's for sure. Despite the lack of infinite ammo - this is the next best thing.
• Goes incredibly well with front-line scouts due to its speed and weight.
• Combos very well with Sonic Pistol, Sonic Pulsers or even the drills.
