The High Explosive is very powerful, but almost impossible to throw. Agents can use it to increase the power of Proximity Mines, but in this regard, it really has little advantage over multiple AP Grenades and is totally outclassed by the Vortex Mine. Furthermore, due to its weight, it cannot be thrown very far, even with a 100 strenght soldier it is not possible to throw it far enough to be outside its blast radius. However, it does guarantee the kill of all Hyperworms in its blast radius, dealing "less" damage to the soldier (aka not killing them) than possible Hyperworm reactions would, if set to instantly explode.

"A high explosive system for breaking through barriers or impassable terrain. Extra care must be taken when throwing this device. Its increased size means that it can't be thrown the same distance as a conventional grenade."
