Megapol’s Laser Sniper Gun is a development (or, as some players would be tempted to say, a regression) from the laser technology from the First Alien War. No one knows why agents cannot see any better through the enormous gadget on the top of the weapon, nor is it known why the Sniper Gun requires energy pods, rather than containing its own internal power supply, as seen in the original X-COM lasers.

As a weapon, the Laser Sniper Gun is very, very accurate; however, it is disappointingly weak and slow. Despite being the most accurate and longest range (non-missile) gun in the game, the Laser Sniper joins the M4000 collecting dust on a back shelf once Disruptors appear.
