Officers (Long War)

Long War replaces the Medal system with Officers. A soldier who has reached at least the rank of Corporal can be promoted to be an officer. Officer ranks are unlocked at the Officer Training School once you have enough total ranks of soldiers in your roster. All officers get the Lead By Example ability, allowing soldiers around them to use their will score instead of their own, and gain additional leadership abilities depending on their rank.

Officers do not change class and will continue to level up and gain perks normally. Once a soldier has been made an officer they are no longer eligible for psionic training or conversion to a MEC Trooper. Similarly MEC Troopers and soldiers with psionic training cannot be made officers.
