BEFORE YOU EDIT, NOTE: protection either works, or doesn't work. It is NOT based on percentages (eg: Laser Beam 50%). If this was the case then half of the damage is absorbed by the shield, which would mean the other half will injure the agent! ...which is not what happens, and there is a varible which randomises damage (and is calc'd against shields too).
