Personal Teleporter
The teleporter is quite possibly one of the most useful, albeit elusive, items of the game. With this item, you can make the aliens literally blow each other up instead of you, get out of the way of an Entropy or Dimension Missile at the last second, and even flank the enemy units and squash them with out them even knowing what hit them. This does make the game much easier, though, and, in skilled hands, can be the most powerful device in the game. If you get one of these, I suggest that you manufacture at least two of them for each soldier. It slowly recharges.
You can use it in Real Time while the game is paused, allowing instantaneous movement which will even allow you to dodge the explosion of a missile AFTER being struck by the missile itself. (the missile does impact damage, then almost immediately detonates for explosion damage)
Very useful when combined with Personal Shields, as this gives you a panic button to teleport to a safe corner of the map, allowing both shields and teleporter to recharge.
