Suppression is a combat ability shared by the Heavy and Support classes as well as most of the Aliens.

Its propose is to degrade the enemy's ability to Fire and Move by firing indirectly at the target's area and thus reducing its Aim if it attempts to fire back and force it to stay immobile or to risk a reaction shot on Overwatch.

Suppression allows to pin down targets that are hard to hit because of cover to one location. Then the rest of the squad can move around to outflank the target and get a flank shot. [ Since it affects an enemy's ability to Fire, Suppression is not so effective when used against an enemy that relies on hand to hand (melee) combat such as Chryssalids or Bezerkers.
