Does anyone have examples on good base layouts in the game?  I'm wondering if the layout of facilities matters aside from using security stations to wall off the entry points.  For example, I think scientists usually spawn in the living quarters, so I generally try to put those as far from the entrance as possible. Can facilities be destroyed by too much damage?  If so, maybe it makes sense to place less valuable structures near the entrance.  Maybe general stores, unless that would mean losing some equipment in the event of destruction. -[[User:Captain Foo|Captain Foo]] 08:11, 29 August 2008 (PDT)

Also, can facilities be destroyed by too much taking too much collateral damage from explosions or fire?  If so, maybe it makes sense to place less valuable structures near the entrance.  Maybe general stores would work, unless that would mean losing some equipment in the event of destruction. -[[User:Captain Foo|Captain Foo]] 08:11, 29 August 2008 (PDT)

Does anyone have examples on good base layouts in the game? I'm wondering if the layout of facilities matters aside from using security stations to wall off the entry points. For example, I think scientists usually spawn in the living quarters, so I generally try to put those as far from the entrance as possible.

Also, can facilities be destroyed by too much taking too much collateral damage from explosions or fire? If so, maybe it makes sense to place less valuable structures near the entrance. Maybe general stores would work, unless that would mean losing some equipment in the event of destruction. -Captain Foo 08:11, 29 August 2008 (PDT)
