I think everybody has a good point. For some reason, to me, this one particular formula always seemed more confusing to look at than it really is, once you know it. Another simplified way to say it (without the now well-known integer rounded ave/2 to ave*3/2 per se) is simply:

Just saying an alternate way, and not saying it should be on the page. Also as a '''tiny''' matter of preference, I don't like the ÷ symbol in simple equations; I prefer /. The symbol seems "busy" to me, but maybe it's just me.                          ---[[User:MikeTheRed|MikeTheRed]] 22:19, 23 Nov 2005 (PST)

Why don't we use the following equations: Min days in bed = INT(Health Lost/2), and Max days in bed = INT(Health Lost*3/2)? I think it is a good idea to maintain a uniform equation type throughout the wiki to keep things simple. --Zombie 00:11, 22 Nov 2005 (PST)

Well, I suppose it could also be illustrated as:

Min = H × 0.5
Max = H × 1.5

This would look even simpler than having lots of divides and multiplications. Still, they all mean the same thing.

Unfortunately, the non-math-savvy cannot understand complicated algorithms, while the hardcore mathematician cannot grasp the concept of simple maths. Well known fact. The same can probably be said for linguists. ;)

I added the "Total Days" formula on the basis that it sums up the whole range.

Or are you just referring to the use of * instead of ×, and / instead of ÷?
