"They don't lay eggs during missions, probably they are too busy." Or it was an unimplemented feature (the longer you wait to take out a crashed/landed UFO, the more Snakemen you have to fight)?--amitakartok 08:28, 12 November 2008 (CST)

It's likely just fluff text. Such a situation as you described would require special code for dealing with older UFOs crewed by Snakemen. Since a UFO site is randomly generated upon X-COM arriving dependent only on crashed/landed status, the location, and race(leading to the occasional "UFOs repair themselves if left alone!" discussion), I view it as incredibly unlikely that such a feature was ever considered. possible to add to notes is that they only show up after you research Heavy Plasma and its clip? I have played several games where they only showed up immediatly after I researched both of those and never before. --SerakHawk 19:03, 24 January 2012 (EST)

The appearance of the races apparently doesn't depend on your research but follows specific dates. You can find the ratios on Alien_Appearance_Ratios (major spoilers!) Hobbes 19:39, 24 January 2012 (EST)
