Standard tracked tank

Tracked Chassis HWP's are the only initially available HWP on offer to X-COM forces.

Two variants, the Tank/Rocket and Tank/Cannon, can be purchased from the start of the conflict. The Tank/Laser must be researched and manufactured.

All variants can be upgraded to their upgraded Alloy variant when the appropriate unit is researched.

Variants

Tank/Cannon

Standard cannon tank

Cost: $420,000

Least exceptional HWP, but do not underestimate, the High Explosive Cannon Shells can rip appart blocking Terrain, Alien foes, Civilians and Soldiers quiete easily. Large ammo reserves are situationally useful on long/terror missions. Ability to order Tank/Cannon's instead of needing to construct them can make them effective as a relativity cheap defensive item for base defence.

Tank/Rocket

Standard rocket tank

Cost: $460,000

Effective HWP with a strong weapon. Will struggle to kill armoured targets such as Cyberdisks or Chrysalids but is very effective against softer targets. Also doubles as an effective method of clearing the terrain. While less powerful than Large or Elerium rockets, the ability to carry 8 of them at a time is invaluable.

Tank/Laser

Standard laser tank

Cost/Manufacture: $500,000, 1000 Engineering Hours

An improvement over the Tank/Cannon. The Tank/Laser is equipped with a respectfully powerful Laser cannon, and functionally have infinite ammo in the field and do not require ammunition to be manufactured for them. The chief strength of the Tank/Laser is their 'relative' cheapness, the fact they do not require alien alloys nor elerium makes them affordable if a strong and cheap force of HWP's is needed for defensive or secondary strike team operations.
