Play a game long enough with eight bases and hyperwaves then you be able to work out a pattern where UFOs spawn on the geoscape. So far I have worked out 1) near France, 2) just north of California, USA, 3) mid-northern western Australia, 4) very close to south pole, 5) very close to north pole, 6) over Himalayas. The spawn spots were very close the my actual bases, so if this governs anything then this topic is irrelevant. Also, UFOs spawned inside my sphere of detection, and then fly off to the part of the world which was of interest to them, sometimes even half-way around the globe. I also noticed that you can't have more than 16 Alien bases at any one time, and that they are resupplied at 5 day multiples. eg: 5th and 25th, or 10th and 15th, or 5th and 30th. etc. between one and three times in the month. All this is subjective viewing. Anyone care to add?

Alien craft regulary enter and leave the Earth's atmosphere. Spotting them and shooting them down is an important goal.

Detection Facilities

The above can be built in your base for the purpose of detecting UFOs nearby.

(cue notes from someone who knows more about how this is done then Bomb Bloke does)

Your craft can also detect UFOs via onboard scanners. If an alien vessel moves out of range of your land-based detection systems, you may be able to resume tracking by sending one of your ships to where you believe the UFO to be (based on its speed and direction).
