Attempt 1

Failed. Forgot to make a metalog.

Failure symptoms:

  • First mission has only 4 soldiers
  • CTD as I launched the mission

Attempt 2

Based on my experience modding Mass Effect 1/2/3, my failure probably was caused by conflicting mods. So in this attempt I will attempt a bisecting.

  • Uninstalled the game
  • Deleted the XCom-Enemy-Unknown folder from Steam
  • Deleted all Config files in My Games

07:46, 16 February 2019 (CET) Reinstall

  • Reinstall the game
  • Install Long War, installer name: Long War EW 1.0 for PC-88-1-0.exe
  • Started a new game, got into the Tactical Mission no problem with 6 soldiers
  • Close the game
