***Spoiler warning***

Why are you making duplicate pages Ant_Farm_X:EU12, Main_Page_Table_X:EU12, Wiki_Tips_X:EU12, Main Page Table X:EU12? If you are making a draft or sandbox pages, then keep them under your profile. Like User:Kokkan/Main_Page, otherwise you will just clutter up the wiki and make competing pages ending up with quantity rather than quality. --Kokkan 05:58, 4 October 2012 (EDT)

:: Yeah, not duplicates at all. Just a plain rip-off of the Situation Room page. Why not put the effort into improving the existing pages rather than start competing pages? --Kokkan 03:11, 5 October 2012 (EDT)

::: Go back and look at the Situation Room history and the contributions I made to it.  And again, these are not competing pages.  As far as I know, you're the only who knows about them.  I'm doing what makes sense in my head for my own reference.  I'm really excited about the game and I want to kick it's butt, hopefully getting really far in Impossible someday.  To do that, I need to know the game inside and out. To know it that well, I need the info organized in a way that makes sense and I can access it efficiently.  Besides, I can't really improve your existing pages when I don't have any new information... or when my edits get reverted and protected. How would one go about requesting that a subsection be added to Gameplay Mechanics? Specifically, I've found the lack of documentation about about in-game symbology to be frustrating, and would like to contribute to fixing that. --Grimlock 14:17, 21 October 2012 (EDT)
::: And part of it is just me fiddling around learning how this wiki thing works and whether I really want to put the time into it, or just play the game and not stress over kicking it's butt. Robbx213 13:00, 5 October 2012 (EDT)

:::: This wiki is not your personal notepad, if you don't know much about wikis then I would advice caution and be more conservative. Duplicate pages/projects is frowned upon afaik. It's better to make additions and improvements to existing pages, and if they get reverted; then there is probably an error in them or they don't conform to wiki or local standards. Busting in and editing a Template that is standard for this entire wiki is just bull-headed. Also, discussions should be kept on talk pages. Other than that, I like your additions and would rather have them on the appropriate pages.

::::Personally, I keep away from as much information as I can right now. I want to experience that through the game. --Kokkan 16:37, 5 October 2012 (EDT)

:::::I'm obviously still not understanding how the couple pages I have made interfere.  How would it be different if the page were "User:Robbx213\whatever" rather than "Ant Farm"?  I am definitely willing to contribute to the pages that already exist, and I will start posting suggestions in the Discussion rather than immediately making an edit, but there are some pages I would rather have in my own format.  I understand there should not be a competing page and that is why I am not linking any of the pages I make nor mixing Categories.  So I think, I hope, anybody coming to UFOPaedia.org will see all the pages you and Hobbes have created without seeing any of the few pages I've created for myself.  I'm not going to redo everything, that would be a waste of my time.  Really, the main thing for me is the main page; there are just too many links and clicks.  Like Attributes (EU2012); there's just a bunch of flags and then you have to click around to go back to the Soldiers page for the actual list of attributes.  Seriously, I don't see how they're conflicting?  If they are, would moving mine to "User:Robbx213\whatever" change the mechanics and make them invisible to everyone but me? ::::::Robb, your idea of making a competing page is a good one but here it's something that wiki users are not used to and internally it can be confusing for the other contributors. When you mention: 'I see all the pages you and Hobbes created without seeing any of the few pages I've created for myself', that's something users usually never take notice of who actually first created the page (and in many cases the original poster merely made a 'stub' and linked the page). Since it's a collective effort contributors don't usually consider to 'own' the pages - someone can come and change it if the information is proven wrong. But at the same time contributors like and should to have their own 'pet projects' - but in those cases authors just put a link at their own individual page so that other users can see their work.

::::::I don't have an issue with editing directly the pages (instead of discussing on the Talk page) if the person knows what he/she is doing (has a concrete reason). One thing that you can do is find your own pet page (or project) that no one is interested or has time to develop right now - no one will bother you then (at the beginning at least).

::::::I'll actually delete all of the pages that you're working on, when you tell me you're finished, there's no need to redo them, to clean up the wiki for unnecessary pages, just mark then with a 'Deletion' category.Hobbes 06:19, 6 October 2012 (EDT)

EU 2012 Table
Hey, could you please look into the table I'm updating at User:Hobbes/Sandbox_page and tell me what you think? After I wrote the XCOM (EU2012)XCOM page (I felt necessary to give a geral overview of XCOM and its mission) I realized you're right - makes sense to group all the different strategic aspects under XCOM Headquarters, just that the way you had it organized before that didn't made sense to me. Here's the organization I'm thinking of:

* HQ and general Base Facilities

* Mission Control

* Situation Room

* Research

* Engineering

* XCOM Craft

* Soldiers

You can find a description of each category under XCOM (EU2012)#XCOM. I'm also considering making a graph to show how the 7 categories should be connected with one another in order to win the game. Hobbes 06:31, 5 October 2012 (EDT)
