Each pod (or group of alien units) can be composed of up to 8 units, consisting of a Leader (the pod's boss) and Followers. The type of units that can appear in a pod is dependent on the type of missions, which include specific inclusion/exclusion lists to determine what ADVENT units can be present on the pod, and it is also dependent on the campaign/mission's Force Level.
The Force Level will advance periodically after a number of days (dependent on the game's difficulty level) and it can also be increased/decreased for certain missions, and as it progresses obsolete units will be removed and more advanced ones will be added for possible deployment. Force levels start at 0 and can reach 20+.
The following table lists the appearance ingame of ADVENT's units, which is dependent of the campaign/mission's current Force Level.

Notes
- Each unit has a specific weight for each Force Level, indicating its probability of being chosen for an alien pod. The individual values aren't listed on the table but can be consulted in LW2's XComGameData_CharacterStats.ini file.
- Some units can only appear either as Leaders or Followers
- Faceless can only appear as part of pods in Rendezvous missions (verify)
- Turrets also have weights but there aren't listed above because LW2 lists 2 versions for each turret and it is unclear when each version is used
- Generals appearance is determined instead by the XComMissions.ini file
