Superior to Magnetic Ion Armour? The front plate is definitively weaker, and it lacks the MIA's 10% resistance to Sonic weaponry making the back pretty close to even. It's a little iffy. Magic9mushroom 06:45, 6 March 2012 (EST)

Depends on how you look at it. The Magnetic Ion Armor does do better from the front, but as a whole the displacer does have 130 all-round armour, which does offer better overall protection from areas that Magnetic Ion Armour is most vulnerable. -NKF 12:19, 6 March 2012 (EST)

Version Check!

Since it seems there's different opinions on what the turret stats are, I think we need a version check to compare the stats. I know the previous edit of 130 damage matches with my fresh install of TFTD for Dos + the v2 update. Also, something which has been bothering me for a while, the ammo is 100, not 99. Anyone with unedited copies of the CE and PSX versions able to verify their values? -NKF 03:21, 10 August 2012 (EDT)

The CE version stats are exactly the same as the hovertank/plasma: .data:0047799C: 04 00 24 00 6E 00 56 00 1E 00 00 00 00 00 64 00 3C 00 00 00 with 100 shots of ammo.

Armor is 130 all around except 100 for the underside.

I've checked CE, v2.0, and v2.1. It seems that the in-game statics for the Displacer/Sonic are incorrect. There, the damage is stated to be 130 but, as you can see from the actual code, the damage is 110. Even that isn't logical: If the Displacer is armed with a Craft's Sonic Oscillator the damage should be 150.Tycho 10:04, 10 August 2012 (EDT)

So it's just the ufopaedia entry that's showing the wrong stats. Fair enough, as from actual use I always felt it wasn't stronger than the sonic cannon on a shot-by-shot basis. -NKF 15:32, 10 August 2012 (EDT)
