Walker Chassis
Walker Tank HWP's represent the endgame of X-COM HWP development. Only a single variant is available, the Walker/Plasma.
Whereas the Hover Chassis is the culmination of Human science in developing an advance, alien technology derived, armoured fighting vehicle, this chassis exploits Humanities ability to steal what it can't have. If X-COM can somehow capture an Armoured Sectopod during battle, it can have its psionic control link cut and be brought under X-COM control.
Tactically, this platform is almost virtually identical to the Armoured Sectopod in combat effectiveness. Its primary gun, a heavily modified Heavy Plasma, is very potent, with its auto-fire mode being capable of firing five rounds per salvo. Its armour is the most powerful armour available to any ground unit in the game, furthermore its armour takes only 80% of damage from plasma weapons, giving this platform a further boost to its survivability.
The only difference with the Walker HWP compared to its Alien controlled variant is that it possess slightly more time units, and significantly less reaction potential.
This unit may not fly, but its armour will withstand the heaviest of enemy fire.
But even Goliath fell.
