Any research involving Alien creatures must be conducted in a Biochemistry Lab. These labs can accommodate up to five Biochemists working at one time and each lab can be assigned a specific research project.

Commonly called a Small Bio Lab
A Biochemistry Lab is used for researching basic alien lifeforms and other simple biology topics.
A maximum of four large laboratory/workshop facilities per base.
Maximum total of Biochemists across all bases = 50, ideally ten small, or five large, bio labs in total.
A larger facility is available once the relevant research is completed.
