The Alien queen is ultimately the production unit for all Alien life forms. Its mobility is severely limited when fully grown and it also requires exactly the right atmospheric conditions in order to breed properly and produce the Alien eggs. These conditions are only provided by the spawning chambers inside an Alien building, which also provide a food source by plugging directly into the Queenspawn's blood supply. This confirms that the Aliens cannot conquer our dimension without a steady supply of Alien reinforcements through the Dimension Gates, although their motive for such incursions is still unknown.

The massive form of the Alien queen is designed to lay huge numbers of Alien eggs during its life time. The Queenspawn uses a complex asexual reproduction system to produce large numbers of Alien eggs in order to create new types of Alien creature. The importance of the Queenspawn for Alien population growth makes it an important strategic target.

The Queenspawn is the large mother worm responsible for the propagation of the Multiworm that populate the Alien Dimension. There is only one queen and it is found in the Alien Dimension's Spawning Chamber.
The Queenspawn rests on a raised platform littered with its eggs. The queen is protected by laser curtains that surround the sidesof the platform. The hall in front of the platform houses four troop reinforcement pads that provide additional guards.
The Queenspawn has a long range spit attack that is extremely corrosive and has a very high rate of fire. Any X-COM agents within its field of attack will be quickly slaughtered. Fortunately it has a limited attack radius. The Queenspawn can only attack in a tight wedge in front of it. Its sides are vulnerable. The Multiworm Eggs that surround it provide limited protection.
There is only one chance to capture a live specimen of the Queenspawn. Successful capture will allow completion of the requirements for Anti Alien Gas weapons that provide an area-effect variant of the Toxigun Toxin for use in the final confrontation with the aliens.
First clear out the rest of the map and take out all reinforcement teleporters and save the Queenspawn for the very end. This allows the mission to end the moment the queen is stunned.
If you have teleporters, teleport into the chamber to the sides of the Queen where the laser fences will protect you from her. If you do not have teleporters, you will need to charge across the threshold to the same spot, weathering the Queen's attacks. Very few agents are required for the capture, so have the rest of your agents give extra shields to your capture team to make sure you don't suffer losses. Load up your capture team with a lot of stun grenades.
Once you're in position at the rear of the Queen's chamber behind the laser fences, throw stun grenades in front of the Queen - you should be able to cover the queen in stun gas without actually getting line of sight on her, allowing you to apply stun damage while remaining safe.
Once you've thoroughly gassed the Queen so that she's at maximum stun damage, you can either do the required physical damage with explosive grenades thrown in front of her, or fire blind long range shots from outside the Queen's chamber (since you know exactly where she is). Alternatively just charge in and toxigun her - she should become stunned before she can do much damage to you.
